A Total War Saga: Troy is releasing on Steam on September 2, 2021, and to accompany it on the same day is the new DLC A Total War Saga: Troy - Mythos, which is the largest update that the game has seen so far.
The new update will bring new game modes, systems rework, and a new campaign game mode that will add mythical monsters, quests to capture them, divine powers, and more to the ancient world.
For interest, the Lernean Hydra, the Griffin Patriarch, and the Cerberus all await players that are brave enough to try and harness them for their own ends.
If you can do such a thing, then you'll be able to unlock "legions of followers, special abilities, and new gameplay opportunities."
There's also a Divine Will system that will allow players to control thunderbolts from Zeus or the waves of Poseidon, so if your water-loving friend chooses a water map you can prepare yourself for the flood that is surely coming.
Heroes will have a cost for instance, while Epic Heroes for instance. For those that aren't into this mythical jazz, there's also a new dedicated mode called Historical Mode, which will replace all the mythical stuff with more realistic stuff.
There aren't many details, but it appears this will also remove or adjust things that were less historically accurate in the base game as that mixed myth and reality.
